Event/ History
Four years ago, Boko Haram posted a video of over 200 kidnapped girls clothed in black gowns. Boko Haram is a Islamic State that is located in West Africa. Boko Haram was founded in 2002 by Mohammed Yusef. Boko Haram has killed ten thousands and displaced 2.3 million people from their homes. Nigeria is in it's ninth year in war with Boko Haram. Over the last four years, more than one hundred of these girls have been released. Communities searched for their lost girls. Military and parents both searched, their message reached outside of the country, even the continent! Protests from America, France, South Korea and so many other places had one message. Bring back our girls! For years many of these girls still remained in captive. But for those who have escaped or let go they now reside at a pristine university. They now live the lives of almost normal young adults. All of these girls are thankful for escaping but still think back to the girls that didn't get to join them. But despite being free, these girls are kept under contest surveillance. They are not allowed to leave campus without an escort and must have permission to have guests over. These young women have rarely been able to visit family since the kidnapping. They only see them during holidays such as Christmas. "They will not be the normal people they were before they were abducted. A lot of restrictions will come with their lifestyles" Says Ms. Mahdi, secretary general of the Woman's Rights Advancements and Protection Alternative. Opinion I hope that these young women are onto a path of education to help other girls that might be a victim like them. It must be terrible having such a traumatic experience like this, I could never imagine the pain these women went through. I hope they get stronger each and every day. I am going to comment on Colin's and Max's

Glad that there is a good ending to this story. It's a very tragic thing that still happens around the world. I am glad to see that these girls live on to tell the stories of what they experienced and to educate others to not make the same mistakes as others.

With all of the bad things happening right now, I am happy to see that there is a good ending to this tragic tale. Though I don't understand what the Main event is, I am glad to see that these girls who once lived in fear can return to society and integrate smoothly back. I Do feel bad for them now since they have so many restrictions on their lives, but at the same time I also feel elated that these people are living back in society rather than in captivity.
